Processes involving particles
There are many processes which involve particles in one form or another. Particle sizing provides essential information when optimising these processes:
• milling or grinding processes - these can be wet or dry mills, and can be continuous or batch. Particle size data can give accurate information about the end point of the comminution process and save a lot of money in terms of energy saving.
• wet and dry granulation processes - looking at the quality and properties of granules
• spray drying processes - optimisation of final powder
• blending and dispersion processes
• optimising classifiers and separators to ‘cut’ the correct distribution from a broader one
